Our team is committed to developing and maintaining top athletes in the equine industry. We believe that the foundation of a dressage horse develops from the essentials – a healthy, happy and well maintained animal. This is why we partner with professionals to provide the best farrier, dentistry, massage, acupuncture and chiropractor services to our four legged friends.
Once this solid foundation is formed, you can begin to develop each animal to their peak performance.we follow the classical training scale of dressage education and is incorporating biomechanics to enable the rider to more effectively communicate with their horse. Each horse must begin at the basics of rhythm and relaxation before being able to move on to more advanced movements. The horse must be willing, through, and over the back before any lateral progress can be made. This insures proper muscular development instead of just performing movements for the sake of doing them.
Horses are truly the best indicator of their own progress. The horses can tell you when they are overwhelmed, need a day off, or are completely on track with every aid. Riding is not about the length of time you are in the saddle but the quality of the work you do. We believe that if our athletes come out and excel for 20 minutes, that might be all the work they need. This type of training mentality not only keeps the horses willing to work but physically in the best condition possible. We believe that one must look at each horse individually to develop the proper training program for that athlete. There is no magic formula that says you should work each horse for 45 minutes 5 days a week. Like people horses have off days, get muscle sore, are super energetic or just have a normal day. She customizes each animals program to best suit their needs and goals on a specific day, week, or month. Barbra diligently works with each client to not only explain their horses needs but help them learn and develop as a team.
Our overall goal is to develop the horse and riders to reach their riding goals. We create an environment that is supportive to any level of rider. We help to build the confidence of the horse and rider so they will continue down the training road to success.
"Dressage is not a theory, riding is an art, feel what you are doing, think why, plan, but also let it happen." ~ Sarah Warne
