Who am I?
I have been riding since the age of five and currently enjoy competition in dressage. My background includes experience with hunters and combined training. I serve on the board of directors of the Midwest Dressage Association and am the chairperson of the Education Committee. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Equine Studies and a British Horse Society Assistant Instructor Certificate. After college I taught riding in New York and New Jersey, sold tack and supplies at Millers Harness Company, worked at the American Horse Shows Association (now USEF) in the Membership and Horse Recording Departments and spent time as a professional groom on the hunter pony circuit.
In 2002, riding my former mount Brilliant Guise, I received the USDF All-Breeds APHA Championship for First Level Adult Amateur. I also earned several USAE Silver Stirrup Regional Awards and a
year-end award from the Midwest Dressage Association. "B.G." also won the Second Level Adult Amateur All-Breed Award under the guidance of Nancy Bryant.
The 2004 show season was the debut of Brilliant Reflection ("Blake"), a Thoroughbred/Paint with a great personality and tons of talent! We were the Waterloo Show Series Reserve Champions for Training Level Open division and Blake has an average score of 66+% this year in Training Level. He also won the Championship for the MDA's Training Level Open Division for 2004 and was the USDF All Breed winner for APHA in Training Level. In addition to shooting horses, I also photography dogs. I am lucky to have two Jack Russell Terriers who serve as models. My husband and I adopted Murphy in 1999 and Madison in 2002 (both from the JRT Rescue). I hope my photography reflects my years of experience in the equine industry. Participating both on and off the horse, I feel I capture the ability and personality of my subjects. Please contact me to arrange a private setting with your favorite equine or canine friend!
