Saddle Breaking and In-Hand Work:
From weanlings to OTTBs, Barb enjoys teaching young horses their basics.  It's during this process that the horse gets the impression of what being handled by a human is going to be like for the rest of their life. Horses are creatures of habit and prefer a consistent, daily routine. Young horses are started with in-hand work to gain respect on the ground, move to the lunge line for balance and suppleness and then go on to work under saddle to help create a happy equine athlete.

Retraining and Horses with Individual Needs:
Of track thoroughbreds and horses that have special needs due to health issues or previous training have become another area of expertise that Barb covers for clients. These horses need individualized attention, getting into their heads and determining the cause and effect of their behavior.

Working with Novice Horses and Riders:
Barb is extremely patient and uses visual as well as thinking strategies to help riders achieve their individual riding goals. Whether it's preparing the horse and/or rider for shows or reintroducing someone to the saddle after a hiatus, there is always a positive outcome before, during and after training.
