We take pride in providing our boarders with a customized feeding program based on the horses' workload and dietary needs.  Each horse has a grain bucket where their own special "recipe" is listed on the side along with any additional supplements the owners choose to be beneficial for their horse. Feed for the next meal is prepared ahead of time to insure correct rations. The feed is adjusted for work load or lay ups. We feed two times daily and offer variety of grains: sweet feed or a low protein/high fat pellet. We can also provide a customized  feeding program to suit your horse's nutritional needs with either Purina, Triple Crown or Buckeye products. Supplements are provided by owners but are stored in individualized bins with the horses' names on them to avoid mix-ups.

We feed a first or second cutting grass hay that is locally grown. Horses are provided with hay outside during the fall and winter months as well as adequate amounts in the stalls at night when they come in from the pasture. They are also provided with water outside all year round. Water tanks are dumped, scrubbed and refilled weekly.

Turnout occurs every day (even holidays) in groups of two to four in grass pastures for 8-9 hours per day.  The pastures are fertilized 2x a year and rotated every 2-3 weeks to maintain optimum grazing during the summer. They are also brush hogged on a regular basis to cut down on the bugs that inhabit taller grass that goes uneatten. Providing daily turnout has a huge impact on behavior as well as allowing socialization time with pasture-mates, allowing proper circulation and maintaining a positive attitude.
